MACKAY has been identified as one of the top 10 regional areas to offer affordable homes.
The Mackay local government area is one of three offer affordable homes and has an economy and investment pipeline, essentially meaning prices will rise in years to come, according to Financial Review senior reporter Micheal Bleby.

“It marks a big turnaround for a market such as Mackay, Australia’s sugar capital, where, after the end of the last mining resources boom, unit values fell almost a quarter and house sales volumes dropped 63 per cent in a year after peaking in 2013,” Mr Bleby said.
According to CoreLogic RP data, the median house price increased over the past 12 months by 8 per cent to $395,000 in April.
