Three ways Council is supporting Mackay businesses

BUSINESS is always the talk of the town and in this climate, it is more important than ever to support our local businesses to help aid the economic recovery.

Mackay Regional Council supports the growth of local business and the investment of new business opportunities throughout the region.

By working collaboratively with key regional stakeholders Council is committed to supporting business and industry development to build Mackay’s regional capabilities.

Here are three ways Council is supporting Mackay businesses:

1. Setting up a business

Council is committed to supporting the growth of local business and the investment of new business opportunities and has a ‘First Point of Contact’ officer who will work with new business owners to facilitate access to the relevant areas of local and state government and to look at support options from project inception to completion.

2. Business grants

Council has partnered with GrantGuru to provide ‘Funding Finder’ to all local businesses, community groups, not-for-profits and individuals. This site provides a comprehensive list of grant and funding opportunities available to you and the ability to search over 1,197 grants worth $63.9 billion.

The free service means Mackay businesses will never miss a grant opportunity again.

3. Small business webinars

To make sure Mackay businesses are in good shape, Council has launched free business development webinars.

The free five-part webinar series is focused on business development and covers business essentials such as planning fundamentals, building a digital footprint, business accessibility and much more.

Part of Council’s Small Business Mentoring Program, the webinar series is delivered by Sparrowly Group for businesses in the Pioneer Valley. All businesses in the Mackay region are invited to participate.

All webinar recordings and resources will be accessible for up to 12 months online.
